Happy Holidays Everyone!
What
a special time of the year this is. Everyone is happy and excitement builds with each day we get closer to NO SCHOOL! The gym is hopping with excitement and anticipation of our first big
nationals. The Booster club is working overtime, the coaches are working hard to have us ready, and the teams polishing the routines. With all this excitement and fun going on it is hard for some of us
to remember that we should slow down long enough for us to give thanks for all that we have. This is the time of the year all of us should take the extra time to say "I love you" and "thank
you" to all of the special people in our lives. This is also the time of the year that we should reach out to someone who may not have, or may be missing that someone special.
The ALLSTAR Panthers want to say "thank
you" to our community, for offering a such a caring charity that supports children and their families during times of crisis. The Panthers are reaching out to the Ronald McDonald House here in
Atlanta this holiday season. We have chosen this because it involves children. The Ronald McDonald House was established so that these very special children could be with their moms and dads,
in a non-hospital environment, during some pretty tough times. The Panthers have made a commitment to donate much-needed items for these families to use during their stay. I want to FILL
THE OBSERVATION ROOM with these things. Mom and Dad, I would like for the kids to be a part in selecting the items and bringing them to the gym. It is very important that they feel a part and in the
spirit of supporting this charity.
I am so honored to be a part of such a special group of people. The ALLSTAR program has been a very special part of my life for the past 6 years. I have
made some very good friends, both child and adult, during that time. I have watched some of these kids grow up, go to college, and return as instructors; giving back what they have learned and experienced at
ALLSTAR. I have worked with many of you who have and still give so unselfishly of your time and resources to help make our program special. To all of you I want to say "thank you"!
Since we have put up our new web site, I have made many friends from around the world. You write and ask questions, seek advice, or just say Hi! I really enjoy hearing from you and to each of
you I want to say "thank you" and keep writing!
To all of the coaches and staff, you are the backbone of our organization, the tireless workers, the leaders
and role models for all our kids. Your caring efforts for each person in the program is what gives it that special quality! Making every one of the kids feel important and worthwhile makes the
ALLSTAR program such an important and useful activity in their lives and why we all do what we do. To all of you I want to say "thank you"!
