This was our 10th year at US Spirit. Our National Champion Peewees weren't even born when we first came here! What a way to finish out the season...well a finish for most teams anyway as Senior Silver still has Worlds next month! What a month March has been for our gym. We have won every division of every competition that we competed in...12 National Titles this month alone! All teams really developed this season and we were all saying that we wish our season was starting now instead of ending! Orlando was a lot of fun and everyone was great. The individuals kids were amazing, the teams were outstanding, the parents were loud, the senior ceremony was touching and the food was great (and on time)...sorry Jodi, I didn't have a chance to pick on you in person! The weather was beautiful and I continued to get comments from people how GREAT all of teams looked! We certainly lived up to our reputation at this competition but in a different way from years past. Luck never played a role in any of our wins this year. We did not beat anyone because they dropped stunts or busted tumbling and the divisions were not weak. We just looked GOOD! Our routines are just entertaining and clean, our uniforms look exciting and energetic and our music is REALLY a cut above. I really want to take a moment to thank the coaching staff. We had some pretty lofty goals at the start of the season and this staff stayed focused on them the entire year. We had teams that were struggling and off to slow starts but the coaches continued to teach and improve skills. They were not afraid to make tough decisions needed to keep things moving forward. I am so honored to be surrounded by such talented people! All of the Individuals did a great job on Friday and you did your teammates and the program proud! Nikki, Lindsey and Dee, congratulations on your National Titles! Peewees, you FINALLY DID IT! You guys were awesome and could have beaten ANYONE last weekend! The routine was great and you performed it like true champions! We are so very proud of you this year. You hung in there after the disappointments, kept working hard, refused to give up and because of it, you are NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!! Congratulations girls! Youth Red, WOW! We could count on you for a National Title all season long and you did not let us down this time either! You guys just dominated your division all year. You worked hard and learned so much during the season. I can't wait to see what all of you can do next year. Congratulations on ANOTHER National Championship!! Youth White, BACK IN THE WINNERS CIRCLE! You guys were awesome and showed that Youth White spirit. I have to tell you that it was a "train wreck"at the start of the year but look at you now! You turned out to be one of our top performing squads this season! That win at Battle, coming back from 3rd place, was HUGE, you hit a little bump in Tampa but came back STRONG and owned that division last weekend against some pretty strong competition! You worked hard and it showed. Congratulations girls! Youth Black, YOU DID IT AGAIN! Of all of the great performances of last weekend, yours was the one that I got the comments on. It took a while the season to pull things together but you showed your heart in Tampa by pulling that one out and you showed your talent by dominating your division at US Spirit! Awesome job girls! Junior Silver, you guys were amazing! The front tumbling and Lauren Fadem landing that double on her feet on Sunday for the first time!! I have never seen a team this young so upset over a season ending as this one. There was not a dry eye back stage. It was all very sweet and just goes to show that after a rocky start and a lot of tears driving home after practices, these kids really came together as a team. We were all so proud of what you accomplished and I see the core of a dominating team for years to come! Congratulations girls! Senior White, amazing! You guys just took over this division in every competition. Once you passed the Stingrays at CheerSport, there was just no one that could hang with you! I just can't believe that this is the same team that I worked with the Thursday night before Battle! We loss with Nikki's knee injury and had to teach the routine to Alyssa Saturday night. Even with all that, you stayed focused and hit that routine with no problem...just like the champions that you are! Thanks Alyssa and get well Nikki! We are so proud and impressed with this team and can't wait until next season! Senior Black, WOW and WOW! I know of one team that did not return to Orlando because of your domination over them in the past few years...good decision for them! They would have never come close to you! I love watching this routine because it just draws you in, especially the way that you perform it! You turned the corner after the fiasco at Cheersport State and there was no looking back! You led to way for us...5 National Titles...it was historic and has never been done in our gym before! You were a senior team that showed senior leadership! You kept the momentum going for us until all of the squads could catch up. Thank you so much for that! Congratulations on a completely amazing season and I just can't wait to see what happens in Dallas next year! Senior Silver, I love the changes and can't wait to see the new pyramid at the end! We were all so proud of how you were able to overcome the loss of Melissa AND Jessica last weekend. You went out once again and hit all stunts so I think we are past those problems! Brittany Roth attempted her double for the first time, not only in competition, but without a spotter standing close by! I am so proud of you for that Brittany! Jenna Fischer was EXTREMELY ill just before hitting the floor but you could never tell it when she was out there...the true heart of a champion! Jordan and Kelli Ann stepped right in from Senior Black and saved the stunts...THANK YOU!! This is why I feel very good about Worlds...I see you stepping up, wanting it and believing that you can do it!!! A GREAT competition to say the least. I love to see the kids rewarded for their hard work! Again, thank all of you for your support and having faith in us as we worked through the process of getting the teams where they are. See you at tryouts! Go Panthers, Joe
